Bleuásays, “I’ve lived my whole life chained in a concrete backyard filled with junk. My guardian is now in hospice care and I had nowhere to go … but like so many before me, Save-A-Pet was there for me. I’m a friendly guy and lived with another dog. When the person came to pick me up, I was happy. For the first time, I am ‘chain-free.’ During my exam, my heartworm test came back positive, so I will be starting treatment soon. I am looking for a home that will foster me during this time and then, when I test negative, officially will make me a family member by adopting me.”á
Bleu is about 10 years old, spayed, up-to-date on shots (including rabies), tested positive for heartworm and is being treated and will be microchipped.
November is Elder Month at Save-A-Pet. The adoption fee is waived for all cats 10 years and older and all dogs 8 years and older. Regular adoption procedures apply and a $12 rabies tag/registration fee will be charged for all Lake County residents.
