CHICAGO – The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago announced its Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light exhibits will open Nov. 13.
The museum will have limited capacity to ensure social distancing. Timed entry admission tickets are required. Guests can reserve tickets online and select their date and time.
More than 40 trees and displays will decorate the museum’s large rotunda and vast halls. Decorated by local volunteers representing Chicago’s diverse communities, the trees feature handcrafted decorations that honor holidays and cultures from around the world. The 45-foot-tall Grand Tree with more than 30,000 twinkling lights stands in the domed rotunda and provides the perfect backdrop for holiday photos.
Holidays of Light recognizes the traditions of Chinese New Year, Diwali, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Hanukkah, Visakha Puja Day and St. Lucia Day.
Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light are included in entry to the museum. Tickets are $21.95 (ages 12 and older) and $12.95 (ages 3 to 11). The exhibit runs through Jan. 3.
