Dog hopes to put rough start behind him with forever family

Dodger
Dodger

Dodger says, “Ticks were having a feast on me when they brought me to Save-A-Pet. I guess my life has not been good so far. Everything is so new for me. Can you imagine regular meals twice a day, tasty treats, a comfy bed and a staff that just loves you so much? This is almost like a brand-new world for me. Staff members say that I am super sweet, and I just want to be their shadow. They are also showing me things that they call toys, but I am not quite sure what to do with them. They say I will eventually find out, so in the meantime, I am just enjoying all the love and attention I am getting.”

Dodger is about 2 years old, neutered, up-to-date on shots (including rabies), tested negative for heartworm and on preventive medication and microchipped.

Save-A-Pet is closed to the public; however, they do adoptions by appointment only. You can download an application at saveapetil.org/adopt, complete it, take a picture of it and email it to adoptions@saveapetil.org. They will then give you a call to start the process. Please allow two days for a response.

Don’t forget to register for the Tails ‘n’ Treats virtual walk on June 27 and help the residents during this time of need. You’ll get a really cool T-shirt, too. Visit saveapetil.org for more information.
