GURNEE – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing recommendations, Northern Illinois Food Bank will be transforming its annual Foodie 5K scheduled to take place at Independence Grove in Libertyville on June 6 to a virtual race.
While the Foodie 5K is a critical fundraiser for the food bank, this is the best course of action to ensure the safety and well-being of participants, volunteers and staff.
“While we won’t be together in person, we can be together in spirit, showing the strength of our community and the passion we have to solve hunger,” organizers said in a news release.
Register today to receive a Foodie 5K T-shirt, unique finisher medal and swag bag.
A virtual race is a race you can run or walk in any location. Whether it’s in your neighborhood or on your treadmill, you can participate safely from home.
