GRAYSLAKE – CYN Counseling Center is offering telehealth virtual counseling during the coronavirus crisis, according to a news release.
The center, which has a mission to preserve and strengthen families while protecting children from abusive or high-risk situations, now will offer virtual face-to-face client and clinician counseling and care.
“Through the innovations in video and phone capabilities, we have been able to provide continuous therapy services to our clients and have made adjustments to best fit their needs during this ongoing crisis,” Jordan Debbink, director of donor relations, said in a new release. “For example, some clients are choosing to do two shorter sessions per week in order to deal with their ongoing anxiety over the current situation.”
Research shows that telehealth is just as effective as in-person therapies, according to the release.
Sessions typically last 50 minutes, but shorter session are available. Most insurance providers have expanded coverage to include telehealth. Areas of service through telehealth include individual, group, couple and family counseling.
