More streaming options for Grayslake library patrons

GRAYSLAKE – Grayslake Area Public Library District cardholders will have even more streaming options with Kanopy, a popular on-demand streaming service.

Starting Dec. 2, cardholders can sign up to start streaming films, documentaries, children’s movies and TV shows instantly by visiting .

Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema with collections from Kino Lorber, Music Box Films, Samuel Goldwyn, The Orchard, The Great Courses, PBS and thousands of independent filmmakers. Additionally, Kanopy Kids offers “Sesame Street,” PBS Kids, storytimes videos of popular and classic books and movies along with parental controls.

Kanopy joins Hoopla in “Anytime. Anywhere.” digital offerings for Grayslake cardholders. In addition to movies and TV shows, Hoopla allows cardholders to borrow from hundreds of thousands of movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and more to enjoy on a computer, tablet, phone or smart TV. With no waiting, Hoopla and Kanopy titles can be streamed immediately. Hoopla also allows for titles to be downloaded for offline enjoyment later.

Kanopy and Hoopla selections can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy and Hoopla apps for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku.
