ROUND LAKE BEACH – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, has announced that his summer internship program is open for applications. Yingling is encouraging all high school and college students who have an interest in state government to apply.
Throughout the internship, students will gain experience in government work and communications, as well as learn about state government. Interns will assist Yingling and his staff in community outreach efforts, event planning, data management and more. In addition, interns will have the opportunity to attend meetings and community events with Yingling and his staff.
“Understanding the role of government is important for all young people, regardless of what career field they choose to work in when they are done with their schooling,” Yingling said in a news release. “Helping educate our students is very important to me, and my internship program is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable experience and education for their future.”
Those interested in applying should submit a brief letter explaining their interest in the program by emailing Yingling’s full-time constituent service office at firstname.lastname@example.org. Students with questions can call Yingling’s office at 847-231-6262.
