GRAYSLAKE – Looking for the ultimate learning experience for your children this summer? Explore Camps, as well as Engage STEM Career Exploration Experiences at the College of Lake County, provide academic enrichment cleverly disguised as fun.
Programs are offered for children in grades 1 to 12 from June 10 through July 25, Monday through Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1 to 4 p.m. Convenient half-day camps can be combined for a full-day option. Although most camps are at CLC’s Grayslake Campus, some sessions are offered at the Southlake Campus in Vernon Hills. Camps do not meet during the week of July 4.
The 11 Explore camps, designed for grades 1 to 8, cover STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) topics ranging from digital photography to field biology to writing short stories. The Engage Career Exploration Experiences, designed for grades 9 to 12, cover nine fields – automotive technology, broadcasting/radio, criminal justice, culinary, engineering, innovation, lasers/photonics/optics, nursing and health care and photography.
Cost of each camp ranges from $175 to $225, and a limited number of partial scholarships are available. Visit www.clcillinois.edu/youth/forms for a scholarship application, which is to be submitted at the same time as the camp registration form.
Visit www.clcillinois.edu/summercamps for camp descriptions, instructor bios, schedules, registration information and forms. For information on the Explore and Engage programs, call 847-543-2980 or email CPEInfo@clcillinois.edu.
Early registration is encouraged as camps fill quickly.
