Local kids to portray great detective

Do you like Holmes and Watson? Do you like seeing local talent?

"Sherlock Holmes" will be performed by the Improv Playhouse Young Actors Workshop at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 12;  2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 13; and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14. All performances will take place at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center, 2007 Civic Center Way, in Round Lake Beach.

The drama is based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famed detective story, combining mystery, comedy and action. This particular version has been designed and written for young actors, and it offers many challenging and terrific female and male characters including Holmes, Watson and Dr. Moriarty.

Roles in age range from students in third to ninth grade; 22 young actors from Central Lake County are cast in the production. Tobi Lowrance directs.

Tickets are $10 for adults.
