WAUKEGAN – A preview of Ray Bradbury Experience Museum exhibits will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 9, when the RBEM Committee accepts a donation from husband and wife Feroze Hanif and Samia Feroze, who are Waukegan H&R Block franchise owners.
The public is invited to the event at 13 N. Genesee St. in downtown Waukegan, the location of the future museum.
RBEM plans a Phase 1 opening in August. The committee is raising $230,000 for interactive exhibits on “The Martian Chronicles,” the life of Ray Bradbury, and films in order to bring the imagination of Waukegan’s famed native son to existing fans and new audiences.
“We are supporting the Ray Bradbury Experience Museum as a project to increase tourism and bring educational and cultural opportunities to Waukegan,” said Hanif, whose H&R Block franchise is located at 1430 N. Lewis Ave., Waukegan.
Waukegan Mayor Sam Cunningham will launch the event with opening remarks. RBEM Committee members will present “Ray Bradbury Then and Now” through displays and video.
