ROUND LAKE – A Round Lake man who police had been seeking Sept. 29 in connection with an endangered missing person report was found the next day and charged with domestic battery, police said.
Nicholas “Nick” Wu had been last seen about 5 p.m. Sept. 29, leaving his home in the 24900 block of West Clinton Avenue, near Round Lake. Wu left on a longboard skateboard after an argument with family members. Family members were concerned because of Wu’s agitated and at times violent state, police said.
About 9:45 p.m. Sept. 30, Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 35600 block of North Louise Place, Ingleside, for a 48-year-old woman overdosing. While deputies and paramedics were tending to the victim, a group of onlookers approached. Deputies noticed that one of the bystanders was Wu.
Wu was taken to an area hospital to evaluate his well-being because of his previous erratic behavior. He was released from the hospital about 6:30 a.m. and taken into custody for an active domestic battery arrest warrant, which stemmed from the incident Sept. 29 just prior to him going missing.
Wu is being held at the Lake County Jail on $50,000 bail.
