VERNON HILLS – ZF Aftermarket has collaborated with CASA Lake County, Wheeling Township and the Northern Illinois Food Bank to collect everything from Christmas gifts to food. All donations went to benefit local families in need.
ZF Aftermarket participated in Wheeling Township’s annual Adopt A Family Program, which partners families in need from neighboring towns with donors who want to make their holiday celebration special. ZF employees donated more than $1,250 in clothing and toys that went to benefit 14 children and 11 adults in 2018.
Additionally, ZF hosted a fundraiser to raise money for CASA Lake County, a child advocate organization in the community. Employees hosted an interoffice bake sale and hosted a “Caroling for CASA” contest in which employees nominated members of the executive management team to sing Christmas carols through donations. In all, ZF raised more than $250 for CASA.
“In the giving spirit of the holiday season, we wanted to extend a hand to our own neighbors this year: the families and kids in Lake County,” Karly Long, human resource specialist, said in a news release. “It’s heartening to know we can make such a positive impact in our community.”
A canned food drive collected more than 300 pounds of food that was donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
