GURNEE – Bittersweet Golf Course, 875 Almond Road, will turn into a winter wonderland for Frosty Fest on Jan. 12.
At this free community event, meet the dog sled team, enjoy interactive ice demonstrations and sculptures, take horse-drawn sleigh rides and relax by the fire with s’mores and hot cocoa.
The event is sponsored by the Gurnee Park District and the Village of Gurnee.
Dress for the weather as the event takes place outdoors, starting at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 1 p.m. Limited activities will be inside the Bittersweet Clubhouse, where food and adult beverages will be available for purchase.
Attendees are cautioned that street parking is not permitted. Parking is available at Woodland Middle School (Washington and Almond streets). Shuttle buses will run frequently to and from the event.
Attendees also are reminded to bring cash to purchase food or drinks.
Should there be a threat of rain or inclement snow, check the rainout line for updates. In addition, certain activities such as sledding (bring your own sled) and snowshoeing are subject to change based on weather conditions.
