Police investigate ‘suspicious’ death in Grant Township

GRANT TOWNSHIP – Police are investigating the death of a 47-year-old woman with “suspicious injuries” at a home in Grant Township.

About 3:25 a.m. Dec. 31, Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home in the 34100 block of North Broomsedge Road in Grant Township to assist with an ambulance call, according to a news release.

There, they found a dead woman with “suspicious” injuries to her body, the release stated. Preliminary information indicates the dead woman was a 47-year-old resident of the home.

A 52-year-old man, who lives at the residence and is considered a person of interest in the death, is in police custody, the release stated.

This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the community, the release stated.
