GURNEE – Does your child have a knack for cooking? Is he or she just looking for a new hobby? Sign them up to learn the essentials of baking and cooking in “Cooking 101,” a class designed for 7- to 12-year-olds.
In this course from the Grandwood Park Park District, which is taught by a pastry school graduate and self-taught cake decorator, participants will create treats with chocolate, bake and decorate cakes, and learn how to cook fun and easy meals.
Participants are asked to bring an apron to each class. Classes will be at the Grandwood Park Park District Community Center, 36630 N. Hutchins Road, Gurnee.
The class will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 10 to Feb. 14. Another class will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, March 7 to April 18, with no class on March 28.
