LAKE ZURICH – Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois will celebrate its new resource center at 499 Ela Road in Lake Zurich with a family friendly grand opening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 8. The free event will include hands-on STEM activities for kids, fishing games, DIY coin banks, scavenger hunts, and a climbing wall. The first 50 girls will receive a free Girl Scout fun patch.
Donations of nonperishable food items for Northern Illinois Food Bank will be accepted on-site. Families can also enter to win the grand prize of a year’s subscription of GSNI Girl Gear. No purchase is necessary; one entry is allowed per household.
In-store specials will include a free bag with any $5 purchase, and a chance to spin the prize wheel with any $15 purchase. Purchases of $30 or higher will include a free pop socket or smart wallet. All purchases are cumulative and offered only while supplies last.
From Sept. 8 to 14, any purchase of the new green and gray leader T-shirt will include a free volunteer bag. Other in-store specials include 30 percent off all regular priced G.I.R.L. merchandise, excluding starter kit bags, and an additional 50 percent off clearance merchandise.
