ROUND LAKE – The Miss Ingleside and Fox Lake Pageant announced its 2018 queens.
Ingleside winners were Desiree Frank, Miss Ingleside; Audrey Mazur, Teen Miss Ingleside; Dakota Cleaver, Junior Miss Ingleside; and Gera Buchanan, Little Miss Ingleside.
Fox Lake winners were Haylee Myers, Miss Fox Lake; Savannah Dickson, Teen Miss Fox Lake; Desiree Dickson, Junior Miss Fox Lake; and Athena Schmitz, Little Miss Fox Lake.
The annual pageant took place Aug. 9 at Parkway Banquets Salon.
The queens were chosen from a field of 12 contestants in front of an enthusiastic audience.
The contestants competed in a personal interview, on-stage speech, pop question and presented themselves in formal wear.
The queens are excited to compete in the 15th annual Lake County Community Pageant on Nov. 11 at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, directed by Sue Staranowicz, where girls from all over the county will represent their villages, towns, cities and townships to vie for the Lake County titles.
The new Miss Lake County will earn a minimum $1,500 cash prize at the end of her year of service.
All of the local and county queens are available for volunteer service at family events, grand openings for new businesses and will help serve those in need throughout the county.
This is the third year for directors Jodi Greissinger and Kelli Lichtenberger since the pageant was reinstated after several years absence in Fox Lake. The sisters, who volunteer to direct the pageant, share a passion for pageantry and all the positives it offers to young ladies.
Public speaking, leadership, volunteer and service opportunities are the pillars of the Lake County Community Pageant System, along with sharing a pride for the village, townships and cities the girls represent.
