Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois to move to Lake Zurich site

LAKE ZURICH – Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois has leased space in the Lake Zurich Shopping Center, 499 Ela Road, and will be opening a Resource Center in late May, a news release stated.

Moving helps Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois bring its leadership experience to more girls by being highly visible and accessible in an area that values leadership development and service opportunities in a safe, girl-only environment.

The new Resource Center will be bright and welcoming for current and potential members to stop in and get everything the G.I.R.L. (Go-Getting, Innovator, Risk-Take, Leader) in their life needs. This includes buying Girl Scout uniforms and badges and learning about programming.

Plans are in the works for opening celebrations, including a ribbon cutting and a family-centered party. Residents can meet the staff, see the design of the new Resource Center, and learn about flexible ways to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois serves 16 counties, including parts or all of Boone, Carroll, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Jo Daviess, Kane, Kendall, Lake, LaSalle, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago. To volunteer, donate or join, visit www.girlscoutsni.org or call 844-476-4463.
