GURNEE – An experienced school business official in a neighboring school district was named recently by the Woodland Board of Education as the new associate superintendent of business services, starting July 1, according to a news release.
Christopher Bobek has been leading the business office at Grayslake Community Consolidated District 46 since 2013.
He started with an administrator internship and worked his way up to assistant superintendent of finance and business operations.
He will replace Associate Superintendent Robert Leonard, who is retiring Aug. 31 after more than 20 years at Woodland District 50.
A native of Naperville, Bobek graduated from Naperville Central High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from DePaul University in 2004 and he received a Type 75 Chief School Business Official Endorsement from Northern Illinois University’s School Business Administration Masters Certification Program in 2008.
