FOX LAKE – Police arrested three people in connection with two car burglaries July 30.
Damion M. Amelio, 19, of Fox Lake, Deandre T. Walker, 28, of Chicago and a 16-year-old all were charged with two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle. Walker also was charged with obstructing identification, according to a news release from the Fox Lake Police Department.
Charges stem from a report of suspicious subjects July 30 at Forest Avenue near Oak Street in Fox Lake.
About 3 a.m. patrol officers saw three men carrying backpacks. Two of them appeared to be underage and out past curfew, police said.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned the suspects had burglarized two vehicles on Mariner Lane about a block away.
All of the stolen property, which included clothes, books and backpacks, were returned to the owners, police said.
A Lake County Court judge gave Amelio and Walker a $30,000 recognizance bond the morning of July 30. The teenager was taken to Robert W. Depke Juvenile Complex Center in Vernon Hills.
