Wauconda resident wins $50,000 in Powerball

Photo provided Wauconda resident Scott Cunniff won a $50,000 Powerball prize when he matched four numbers, plus the Powerball number, in the Saturday, Dec. 17, drawing, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery.  The winning numbers were 1, 8, 16, 40 and 48, and the Powerball number was 10, according to the lottery.

Wauconda resident Scott Cunniff won a $50,000 Powerball prize when he matched four numbers, plus the Powerball number, in the Saturday, Dec. 17, drawing, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery. The winning numbers were 1, 8, 16, 40 and 48, and the Powerball number was 10, according to the lottery.  

“I plan to invest this money wisely,” Cunniff said according to the news release. 

Cunniff bought his winning ticket at BP, 700 E. Route 45, in Mundelein, the news release said. The retailer received a bonus of $500, one percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.
