Economic downturn gives boost to repair shop

Sure, those stylish boots you fell in love with fit like a handmade glove when you bought them. Now that you’re out and about though, they start to hurt.
They’re too cute to let go and so you think to yourself, ‘I can do this. Anything for fashion.’
No need to suffer. You could just pay a visit to Simon Shin and have him fix them.
Shin owns the Stop ‘N Out Shoe Repair & Tailor store located at entrance E inside the Gurnee Mills Mall.
The small, oddly-shaped store sits in the corner of the entrance and is just big enough for Shin’s shoe repair tools and for his wife, Kyung Mee Shin’s tailoring table.
The two work alongside each day inside their shop in the mall fixing broken zippers on clothes and handbags, polishing dress shoes, altering wedding dresses and changing linings inside purses.
