Elementary school students learn about bullying

On a recent after school day at a Round Lake school playground, Mario Castro Jr., 7, of Round Lake Park, told his aunt, Maria Castro, who was picking him up that day, that older kids sometimes pick on him and call him a name during recess.

Hearing her nephew’s revelation, Maria inquired for more details, but the boy quickly shut down, gave her a look and then ran away to play in the wood chips.

According to the Ambassadors For Kids organization, one out of four kids are bullied in the U.S. and one in five students admit to being a bully or doing some bullying.
