Cupcakes for adults are the driver at the Butch Bakery, founded in 2009 in New York by David Arrick, a former actor, personal trainer and lawyer.
That means no flowers, swirls or sprinkles. Or, as Arrick, author with Janice Kollar (owner of Kollar Cookies for more than 12 years) of “The Butch Bakery Cookbook” (Wiley), puts it:“Just a delicious frosted cupcake.”
The book’s 30-plus recipes include a dozen varieties that led to the bakery’s success.
