Chain's lower water levels could be problem for boaters

When Laura Johnson took her motorboat out two weeks ago, her engine overheated while she was trying to navigate through shallow water. 

Johnson, finance manager for Sequoit Harbor Marina in Anitoch, said she's not alone.

"The water is down over a foot," she said of the water in Fox Lake and some surrounding lakes. "We've had people overheating their boats. The motors are sucking in gravel and mud."
