Pets enjoy turkey, trimmings at Bark 'N’ Town

INGLESIDE – While some families were busy preparing for children, grandparents and in-laws this Thanksgiving, the Linning family prepared a feast Nov. 24 for more than 40 dogs and two cats spending the holidays at Bark 'N’ Town, a pet resort and day spa in Ingleside.

Nearly 60 pounds of turkey, 20 pounds of mashed potatoes, five pounds of green beans and five pounds of pumpkin pie were prepared by owner Brian Linning and served during a three-day Thanksgiving holiday, he said.

Linning said meals were served contingent on owner’s consent, and that special animal-friendly recipes were used, which excluded dairy and sugar and cut down on fat.
